About
A cozier way to get lighter
Fitoon is an iPhone app made by Bypass Inc., a small product team in Japan. We make the kind of app we'd want on our own home screens: warm, a little silly, and honest about numbers.
Why we built it
- Calorie apps are boring and take too much effort: search, tap, weigh, repeat. Most people quit within two or three weeks.
- The scale lies in the short term. Water, salt and hormones move it, and people quit when the number stops moving.
- Realistic 3D body scans are confronting. Seeing a gray, realistic body is unpleasant for many people who are trying to lose weight.
- Progress is invisible and private, so there's nothing fun to share.
So we flipped each one: talk instead of type, centimeters next to kilograms, a cute cartoon instead of a mesh, and a cartoon you can share while your real body stays private.
Cute, never shaming
Our one unbreakable rule. Fitoon has no red warnings and no “bad food”. When you overshoot, the number turns a warm yellow and Pochi says something kind. After a few quiet days the plants droop and Pochi gets sleepy, and everything recovers on your next log. No punishment, ever.
Kindness is also why the app enforces calorie floors and healthy goal limits, lets you hide the weight number completely, and switches Pochi into a supportive mode with real resources when a conversation suggests someone is struggling.
Principles
Eight rules we design by
Talk first
Anything you can do with buttons, you can do by talking to Pochi.
Zero-friction logging
One sentence or one photo per log. We never force exact grams.
Shape over scale
Centimeters and shape always appear next to kilograms.
Cute, never shaming
No red warnings, no “bad food”. Pochi is always kind.
One room, no tabs
Everything opens from the room and returns to it.
Cartoon is public, body is private
Real scan data never leaves your account.
Safe by design
Calorie floors, healthy goal limits, no extreme advice.
Delight in every action
Every log gets a reaction, a sound and a little bounce.
